What's New

 5/19/2009 New PNDI Receipt Format
 - We have reorganized the receipt to better communicate PNDI search results. We have made the following changes and additions:

  • A summary on the first page provides search results by agency and indicates if further review is necessary
  • Search results are organized by agency in the agency comments section and include a list of species potentially impacted by the project
  • The receipt has a portrait orientation

 4/18/2009 Updated DEP PNDI Policy
 - The Department of Environmental Protection has updated their PNDI Policy. A PDF of the new policy is available here. Reflecting the new DEP Policy, instructions for DEP permit applications requiring a PNDI Receipt have been revised as follows:

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) requires that a signed copy of this receipt, along with any required documentation from jurisdictional agencies concerning resolution of potential impacts, be submitted with applications for permits requiring PNDI review. For cases where a "Potential Impact" to threatened and endangered species has been identified before the application has been submitted to DEP, the application should not be submitted until the impact has been resolved. For cases where “Potential Impact” to special concern species and resources has been identified before the application has been submitted, the application should be submitted to DEP along with the PNDI receipt, a completed PNDI form and a U.S.G. 7.5 minute quadrangle map with the project boundaries delineated on the map. The PNDI Receipt should also be submitted to the appropriate agency according to directions on the PNDI Receipt. DEP and the jurisdictional agency will work together to resolve the potential impact(s).

Use the species list on the receipt to determine if there is a "Potential Impact" to threatened and endangered or a "Potential Impact" to special concern species and resources.

6/19/2008 New DCNR Plant Conflict Rules
 - We have made several enhancements to the rules governing potential impacts for plant species of conservation concern. These changes refine the screening process for determining potential impacts and will reduce the number of projects requiring further review by DCNR. These improvements reflect our continuing effort to improve the PNDI Environmental Review screening process while conserving Pennsylvania’s natural resources.

 3/22/2006 User Accounts
 - Users can no longer have duplicate accounts with the same email address. You are welcome to have duplicate accounts, though you must use different email addresses for each.

 3/22/2006 Blank Receipts
 - A problem was discovered where the system produced blank receipts. If you experience this problem, please try again. While we have significantly reduced this from occuring, it is possible that it may still occur under certain circumstances.

 11/14/2005 - Latitude Longitude Adjustment
 - The Latitude/Longitude has been removed from the receipt except when the checkbox "Create project at this location." is checked when locating your project area.

 Regarding System Downtime
 - The heritage system is restarted on a schedule. This occurs on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month beginning at 3:30 AM and completing no later than 6AM. The system will be unavailable during this time period.
